What people have to say about us...

I can't recommend Tribal yoga enough. I went in Aug 2017, booked for 4 days and extended for another week! It's a fabulous choice if you're traveling alone, I made fabulous friends and really felt at home. The excellent loft 4 self-catering, a/c accommodation is amazing, spacious and stylish-amazing beds!!

Superb yin, vinyasa, hatha, asthanga, yoga nidra yoga over looking a canopy of jungle tree tops. Silhouettes of sunset over the jungle are part of my meditation! So uplifting!! The expert yoga guidance twice a day with extremely kind, motivating, expert teachers allowed me to achieve my intention for my yoga holiday - to come away and live the yoga practice: I have new self empowering confidence and beautiful sense of inner peace and kindness to myself - and the world seems a softer, better place - thanks to Tribal!

And you'll meet the fabulous Joanne who owns Tribal Yoga. She has an amazing energy of warmth, fun, wisdom and inclusiveness. She easily organized safe airport transfers, books excursions, diving, and settles you into your Tulum tribal yoga experience with a free bike, wheeling around Tulum was a highlight of the trip!

Throw in Tulum's natural beauty-the white beaches, fabulous restaurants, excursions to ancient Mayan archeological sites, UNESCO wilderness, free diving in cenotes and it's one of the best traveler choices I've ever made. I'll definitely be going back!

I booked a one week yoga retreat at tribal yoga via As it was my first time to travel to Mexico I had some questions and send an inquiry to Joanne. She was more than helpful and answered always right away, so I felt very welcome and safe. When I got there with a transfer, Joanne was there to greet me. Such a warm welcome :-) you need to know that the lofts and yoga school is within a building with a big sign for acuatic diving school on it. It was such a lovely loft (no 4 as far as I remember). Very spacious, modern, clean and lively decorated. Joanne had prepared some water and some fruits for me. There was a cute balcony with a hammock, which I feel in love with. Never feel asleep faster than there :-) the room had three ventilator and an ac as well. The kitchen offered everything you needed to prepare a proper meal. Lift no 4 is next to the yoga studio itself, which is more beautiful than on the pictures. It's a different energy when it's sunset or sunrise, but always stunning to join a class at each time. I tried to take part in every class theme, but after the third day my whole body was sore so I took a break. The classes with Daria have been the most inspiring ones. She is a great teacher and takes really care if each student. Roll and release changed a lot in my practice. Her music she played lead me to different stages and caught me. I had the opportunity to join some classes with mindy. Challenging, fast, really good and the most beautiful singing voice I have ever heard. Ivengar yoga with Eugenia was challenging, very good and exact. You really feel every posture and how to move into the right posture. I couldn't believe it when I hung upside down on the wall, keeping my whole weight in that posture for more than one breath. Right next to the lofts are a lot if restaurants and a huge super market. Joanne and all her employees helped me with every question I got, (finding the post office, best hammocks to buy, best tacos to eat,...) I booked a fabulous tour to the cenotes with acuatic diving, incredible to snorkel there. A must do when you are in the area and we had so much fun. I could have stayed there for a couple of more weeks. Felt home right away and explored whole tulum with a rental bike which I got from Joanne. I lost one pedal and got a new bike some hours later. Perfect service! There are always some dogs around and a little cute cat. Just adorable. I enjoyed every single second and have been so sad to leave. I will come back again and get my warrior on. If you meet Joanne you will immediately know that she is a special woman, calm, lovable, laughing and joking. I didn't finished her book yet, but I am very impressed already. Thank you tulum, thank you aquatic, thank you to all teachers to have me, thank you Joanne and her employees and thanks for the peace I took with me to Germany :-)

Jo and the whole team at Tribal make this place super special.
Warmly greeted by Jo after a long journey from Australia and made to feel part of her yoga family, she is super attentive as are the teachers and the classes were varied, informative and challenging.

The loft apartment I stayed in was gorgeous and clean and fresh fruit was on a basket for when I arrived. So many thoughtful touches had been made...

The yoga studio is just stunning!!!

Jo went out of her way on many occasions and cant thank her and the team for such a beautiful experience...inspiring to be around and hope to stay in touch.

Thank you guys so much!!

I would definitely recommend yoga here and the trips with Aquatic too, awesome trustworthy staff. Just lovely experience!

I had a couple day off and decided to treat myself to yoga retreat and relax a bit. Tribal Yoga was everything and more that I could expect! The studio is beautiful with large panel windows, wooden floors, equipped with all the props and mats that you need.

I have back issues and Joanne's Yin class did wonders for my back. I got the opportunity to practice Iyenger yoga as well, which is unlike any type of yoga I have ever tried. Loved it!

This studio is also partnered with the Acuatic Tulum, a dive shop, which is another reason I picked this place! The staff there were incredibly friendly and professional leading me on some great dives in world renown cenotes. FYI: bring your underwater cameras for these dives.

The loft I stayed in was in the same building as the studio; it was clean, modern and homey too! It was clear a lot of detail was put into the room: from the bowl or fruits, to the cold water sitting in the fridge, and blender I used for smoothies. They give you a bike to use during your stay, which is by far the easiest way to get to everywhere you need to go, from the beach (3km+) to the shopping area, and restaurants up and down the main street.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Tribal Yoga/Aquatic Tulum to anyone looking for a great getaway alone or with friends. I intend to come back again! Thank you very much guys!

During my two week stay in Tulum, I went to several different places. Tribal Yoga was superior. Flavio's beautifully compact and focus class was a masterpiece of sequencing, interlaced with a simple but profound teaching on the breath.

As a nomad, I go to many different yoga classes in many different studios and countries; this is among the best any place I've been.

Please don't get sucked in by the beachfront retreat scene and think that's all there is; just _try_ Tribal. Yes, the ocean is beautiful, and maybe you'll decide you prefer to stare at it while practicing. But Tribal will be a different beautiful experience, and may well be a more wondrous one.
